Attention Toronto homeowners and valued clients, we have a critical update regarding the Home Efficiency Rebate programs that have made a significant impact in enhancing energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions for over 100,000 households across Ontario. Due to an overwhelming response, the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program, in partnership with the Canada Greener Homes Grant, has reached its full capacity sooner than anticipated. As a result, from the end of the day on Monday, February 5, 2024, our company will no longer be able to accept new applications or conduct initial pre-retrofit energy assessments. We wish to inform participants who have had assessments after this date that their evaluations will unfortunately not be considered for the program. However, we are pleased to announce that the Canada Greener Homes Loan continues to be available, offering financial assistance for those looking to make energy-efficient home improvements, with a pre-retrofit evaluation required for application.Heat Pump Rebate Ended in Toronto: Here's What You Need To Know
We also want to inform you that the Canada Greener Homes Grant is now closed to new applicants in all provinces. For homeowners currently participating in this program, we encourage you to complete your energy-efficient retrofits promptly to maintain eligibility for ongoing funding and support, which can be accessed through the Canada Greener Homes portal.
The good news extends to the Canada Greener Homes Loan and the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability program, both of which remain open. These programs are especially beneficial for low-to-median income households aiming to transition from oil heating to more sustainable heat pump systems. Adopting such systems can significantly reduce your annual heating costs and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
For homeowners who have already initiated their energy efficiency journey with a first energy audit assessment, the rebate program continues to be available. Completing your heat pump installation and other suggested retrofits enables you to proceed with the post-energy inspection audit and submit your application for funding and grants.
For those among you who have completed your second energy audit and all recommended installations and retrofits, it's essential to ensure that your application for funding is submitted accurately and promptly. Our team is here to assist and guide you through this process to maximize the financial support available for your home energy efficiency improvements.
